Biomedica Depot, Oxford
July 2015 – Dec 2015 – Willmott Dixon Construction – Value £100,000

In July 2015 MMK Civils Ltd were awarded the contract for the Groundwork and Civil Engineering at their site at the above address. Initially MMK were called in to carry out the enabling works for the Willmott Dixon site team, and then successfully negotiated the main construction phase of the works which included the excavation and removal of redundant cable / service troughs and re-instating the ground to make good.

Also, MMK were contracted to carry out all new service trenches which included an extensive and tricky four way electric duct trench around the existing services of the sensitive medical ares of the depot. We also carried out all necessary drainage system diversions including the removal of redundant drainage and construction of a new drainage system to capacitate the new construction work by Willmott Dixon. The construction of a new re-inforced concrete base to a tolerance of 5mm was constructed by us using the fast-form shuttering system to allow a new high-tech generator to be placed on to enable Biomedica to further push forward with their medical progress.

MMK Civil’s Ltd site team carried this project out on a Labour, Plant and Material’s basis and all setting out and engineering was carried out by MMK Civils Ltd own Setting Out Engineer. Works were completed on time and with a happy site team when MMK completed the work.
